People search most of their lives for that “something” but it’s difficult to explain what that “something” really is. For some it might be defined as success; for others, purpose; for still others words like freedom, identity, rest, popularity, meaning, happiness, or peace may come to mind. All of us have experienced some level of pain, heartache and hurt--that is the human condition. But often the ways we’ve looked for and tried to treat our pain are very self-centered. Popular culture shows us that we can treat our pain through acquiring more things, or “being all that we can be,” or by focusing on what makes us feel good. Our efforts usually do not consider who or what may suffer as a result of our pursuit. Even when we seek to do “good,” it is often only to further our own agendas.
Our Pursuit will be exciting and the end result will be life-changing. As you read and work through this study our prayer for you is that the truth of God’s love will begin to penetrate your mind, heart, and spirit. This love has imparted great value to you and me as God’s children and there is no performance required to earn it. You and I are deeply loved, totally forgiven, fully pleasing, accepted, and complete because of God’s plan for us through Christ’s death on the cross.
"Pursuit" will help you to know the true character of God and begin to understand that God sees us as He made us, not as we see ourselves. Join us on Wednesday and Thursday nights (attend one session per week) for 8 weeks beginning February 8 & 9, 2012, for a journey toward being able to truly "See as God sees, and love as God loves." To register, contact Mindy Clark at 515-987-9595 or v, or register at http://www.pointofgrace.com/small-groups.
Childcare is available for Wednesday night sessions only.
