In South Africa, a country with more than 1.4 million AIDS orphans , you don’t have to go far to meet children who are sick, abandoned, starving, afraid and without a place to call home. Most never receive the love and education necessary to live healthy lifestyles, making it next to impossible to break the devastating foothold that AIDS has on this nation – until now.
Early in 2009, a dedicated group of individuals established Restoring Hope International (RHI), a non-profit focused on breaking the destructive cycle of AIDS in South Africa, specifically in the Welkom area. Today as RHI’s board of directors, they are working feverishly to make it possible for RHI field staff and qualified South African house mothers to raise abandoned and orphaned children in safe, family home environments.
RHI’s goal is to reach the next generation for Christ. But to do it, we need help from people like you. Please get to know our Board members. Ask them talk to you, your family, your group or organization about RHI. Each is eager to share the vision and, with your help, begin changing lives.

For 5 years, Point of Grace has been sending teams to Welkom, South Africa, to help Brian and Lois Neihoff, and Louis and Amber O'Toole build an orphanage to provide a safe place for abandoned and orphaned children to have a safe home and learn about Christ. Over the next year, we plan to send 2 more teams. The first one will be 11/4-20/11 and the second on in June, of 2012. If you are interested in being part of either of these teams, plan on attending an informational meeting on Sunday, July 17, right after 2nd service, in the HUB.
